Why this ranch
Victorian Highland Ranch sits in Clyde, Texas — a working place that also keeps a Victorian conservatory. Guests come for short stays in The Jasmine and The Rosemary Cottages — each a private house on the ranch: a full kitchen, laundry, a porch of one’s own, and a private yard and garden. Cottage guests are welcome in the conservatory area for coffee, tea, or simply to relax under glass.
The animals are not a sideshow. Miniature highland cows, miniature donkeys, miniature sheep, milk goats, and riding horses share the land — and from time to time may be available for carefully chosen new homes by inquiry. At the heart of the property, the conservatory offers linens, soaps, small treasures, and a quiet place to sit. Photographs are made here too, for weddings and other occasions.
There are ranches that are only pasture, and houses that are only pretty. This one is both — grounded, kept, and a little storybook.
